Maruti Suzuki Celerio X

Summary

 Maruti Suzuki has updated the Celerio X with BS6-compliant engines. The Celerio X is the faux-crossover variant of the Celerio hatchback with tough-looking cladding and other visual modifications. There are eight variants, six colours, one engine and two transmission options to choose from. Prices for the BS6 Celerio X start from Rs 4.94 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi, around Rs 53,000 more than the Celerio hatchback. The Celerio X bridges the gap between the S-Presso and the Ignis in Maruti’s SUV-ish hatchback lineup.

 Exterior

 The update is limited to the BS6-compliant petrol motor and aesthetically the Celerio X is no different now than before. It gets an X-theme based graphic with a gloss black smeared-eyeliner-like effect beneath the headlights. SUV-like tough-looking additions include protective cladding on the side, black roof rails and a faux bash plate on the rear bumper. The ORVM covers and alloy wheels are also painted black to complement the tough look.

 Interior

 The black treatment on the inside remains unchanged, and so does the overall design. The black seat trims get contrast coloured orange piping. The Celerio X comes with a driver-side airbag as standard. Meanwhile, a front passenger airbag and ABS are offered as an optional fitment across all trims.

 Engine & Transmission

 The Celerio X is powered by a K10B 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine producing 67bhp of power and 90Nm which is now BS6-compliant. Power is sent to front wheels via a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT. Unlike the hatchback , the CelerioX is not offered with a CNG powertrain.
