Renault Boreal (Bigster)

Model launch date:

We expect the Renault Bigster to be launched in India in June 2025.

Feature list:

Exterior

The Bigster looks very much like the Renault Duster but with more length and a larger wheelbase to accommodate a third row. Design highlights include the signature grille, 18-inch wheels, vertically oriented taillamps and large roof-rails.

Interior

In terms of features, the Bigster will get dual digital screens, 360-degree camera, leatherette seats with power function for the driver, powered tailgate, and a full LED light package.

Engine, performance, and specifications:

The Bigster will share its powertrains with the Duster and this means a 1.6-litre petrol hybrid and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol. Both engines get AT and MT options. We also expect at least one version to be offered with AWD.

Variants:

The Bigster will be offered in multiple variants broken down into various powertrain options.

Safety:

The new Bigster has not been tested for a GNCAP crash test rating.

Competition:

The new Bigster, in India, will take on the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV700, Kia Carens, Tata Safari, and future models from Maruti and Toyota.
